How does the Gateway Offline alert work?

With Gateway offline alerts, FarmRoad can automatically notify you in the event that any of your gateways stop reporting to FarmRoad.

Gateway offline alerts work by monitoring your gateways for regular updates. When FarmRoad doesn't hear from a particular gateway for at least 60 minutes, it will send an offline alert.

Gateway offline alerts are designed to only alert once for a given gateway outage.

To enable offline gateway alerts, you should navigate to the Manage alerts screen, and select the Sensor alerts tab.

First, enable the alert by ensuring the switch on Gateway Offline alert is in the on position (pictured).

Once the alert is enabled, click on the alert to bring up the alert configuration. Here, you can set up your preferred notification channel(s), and the desired recipients (either by role, team or individual).

To receive alerts via Text message (SMS) or WhatsApp, your team members will need to have a mobile number entered in their FarmRoad profile.

Finally, press Update to apply your changes.

You will now receive automatic alerts when your FarmRoad gateways are offline.
