What is the difference between the Growing Degree (GDD, GDH) calculation types?

The Growing Degree Days / Hours widget in Data Studio currently supports three calculation methods:

Method 1: Growing Degree Days (GDD) - Daily averaging

This is the traditional growing degree day calculation method, where the daily average temperature used to determine the degree days, is calculated from the highest and lowest temperatures for the day.

Method 2: Growing Degree Days (GDD) - Hourly averaging

This method for calculating GDD calculates the sum of the hourly growing degrees, scaled by 24, to provide a more accurate daily GDD calculation.

Method 3: Growing Degree Hours (GDH)

The Growing Degree Hours calculation is the accumulated degrees hours calculated using each hour's average temperature.
