Make better and more timely irrigation decisions by digitizing drip and drain irrigation data.
FarmRoad's new drip and drain irrigation monitoring solution covers both our cloud-based web app and mobile app for Android and iOS.
Prerequisite: Your field(s), including your various sectors/blocks, must already be configured in FarmRoad before proceeding.
In order to use the FarmRoad solution for drip irrigation monitoring, you will first need to configure the drip irrigation stations. This is done through FarmRoad web within your web browser.
First, locate the sector you wish to add a station to and click on it. This will take you to the activity feed, from there you must click on Irrigation.
Then, if a station has not already been created for this sector, you will see a message asking if you would like to create a new monitoring station. Click Add station.
Next, you will be asked to enter some information about the station. These are used to both identify the station and automatically calculate per plant volumes and drainage %.
- Station name: How would you like this station to be named in FarmRoad. A clear name that links to a specific location is best.
- Drippers measured: The number of drippers being collected for drip/input side.
- Drippers per plant: The number of individual drippers watering each plant.
- Plants per drain: The number of plants contributing to the drain/run-off collection.
Press Save once you're done.
Congratulations - you can now capture drip and drain measurements against this location in FarmRoad and FarmRoad Mobile.
