Weather forecasts in GrowPilot cover Air Temperature, Rainfall, Wind speed, and VPD (Vapour Pressure Deficit).
What is the source of these localized weather forecasts?
GrowPlot uses satellite-based technology to deliver accurate, localized weather forecasts. The resolution of these forecasts is 15 km², giving a very localized weather forecast.
The forecasts include:
-
Air Temperature (⁰C)
-
Rainfall (mm)
-
Wind speed (km/hr)
-
VPD (Vapour Pressure Deficit)(kPa)
Forecasts are provided hourly for the next 48 hours and daily for up to 7 days ahead.

What forecasts are provided?
1. Air Temperature (Celsius):
Air Temperature refers to the outside/outdoor temperature. It plays a significant role in plant growth, development, and water requirements.
2. Rainfall (mm):
Rainfall means precipitation that falls. Rain is important to provide water to outdoor crops, but heavy rainfall can cause damage to the plants and damage fruits.
3. Wind (km/hr):
Wind is the rate at which air is moving in a particular area. High winds can cause significant damage to the plants, fruit and growing infrastructure.
4. Vapour Pressure Deficit (VPD) (kPa):
The difference between the amount of moisture in the air and how much moisture the air can hold when it is saturated. For example, a higher VPD indicates a relatively drier environment at a given temperature, which might exert stress on the plants, and you might need to monitor and adjust the environment to reduce any stress on the plants.
